What is an Airdrop?

An airdrop is a distribution of a cryptocurrency or digital asset to a selected number of wallet addresses, usually for free. It’s like getting a little surprise in your digital wallet! They are often used to spread the word about a new cryptocurrency or NFT project, or to reward people who are already interested in a particular NFT creator or platform.

In the context of non-fungible tokens (NFTs), an airdrop could refer to the distribution of NFTs to a group of people for free. This could be done to promote a new NFT project, to reward loyal followers of a particular NFT creator or platform, or to generate interest in an NFT marketplace.

Airdrops can be an effective marketing strategy for NFT projects, as they allow the project to reach a large number of people without requiring them to make a purchase. However, it’s important to note that not all airdrops are legitimate and some may be scams. It’s always a good idea to do your own research and exercise caution when participating in an airdrop.

To participate in an NFT airdrop, you will typically need to have a compatible digital wallet that can hold the NFTs you receive. Some popular wallets for storing NFTs include MetaMask, MyEtherWallet, and Coinbase Wallet. You may also need to complete certain tasks or provide certain information in order to qualify for the airdrop, such as following a social media account or joining a Discord group.

If you are new to NFTs and want to experience a cool Airdrop, here are Non-Fungible Trophies. We recently launched Creative Factory, a very cool collection for folks in the advertising and marketing industry. Check it out here and if you like it, order one, they are free.

Also remember AirDrops go to the hidden tab in your OpenSea account, here’s useful article showing you how to unhide them.
